a day in the LIFE...

 of a 31 Bits intern &
our baggage.

The 31 Bits handbag is fresh in from Uganda, and we can't get enough!

So what does it mean to be a 31 Bits Event intern?  It means meeting and working with amazing people, getting to share the Bits story at local events , and handling fun pieces of jewelry all day long!  But now the fun has expanded, our designers based out of Uganda are making bags.  Perrrfect!

Today me and my fellow Bits intern, Courtney, got to play with all the fantastic pieces as we are sending out Bits Kits to customers who register to host their own Bits House Party.  With the holidays right around the corner, this is a perfect opportunity to bring your friends & family together and promote a brand that empowers and is fashion for good.  If you're interested in hosting your own house party check out 31Bits.com!  All those beads you see are handmade, crafted out of recycled paper and are made in Northern Uganda from women with unquestionable talent!  Every Bit you buy supports these women, providing them with a sustainable income, rising them out of poverty.
This should be reason enough to get involved with this company, whether it be interning or a simple purchase!  The story and its success was MY reason to get involved...and the endless sweet's and treats around the office, voluntary extended after hours to behind the scenes visits to Krochet Kid's (another great organization) warehouse, and Bits field trips to San Diego on a Friday night are just a bonus.

P.S. Courtney, where'd you get that super cute cross body bag?!! Gimme :)

Proverbs 31~ She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
    and portions for her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 She dresses herself with strength
    and makes her arms strong.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.

I love this, a'lotta bit.
